============================= They must be mad!!!

To choose Friday the 13th and then agree to cater for no fewer than seventy five people - they must be mad. But Fr Rodney and Fr Robin, ably assisted by Ann Black and other stalwart helpers, produced an Italian-themed evening of gustatorial temptations and delights. Our thanks go to them, and to Doreen, Alice, Hazel, John, Bill, Eileen - both "front of house" and "backstage" who contrived to serve a bewilderment of meals smoothly and with panache.

Our vocalists, Janet Dawber and Ann Wynne (with pianist Michael Wynne), performed to tumultuous applause - our thanks to them for entertaining us so ably between courses.

There was the inevitable stand-up bingo (an hilarious variant on a familiar theme) and of course the raffle (thanks go to the generous folk who donated raffle prizes). And all of this added up to an evening of sociable enjoyment and fund raising - in this case to help fund the new heating boilers recently installed in the church.

The evening raised the magnificent sum of

£1,330

which is a most valuable contribution to the overall cost of £33,000. Thanks to all who so generously supported this most enjoyable evening. =============================
