Walsingham was wreathed in sunshine when we arrived on
Monday 8th August. As befits a pilgrimage, the journey was
arduous - traffic queues caused many a grimace! But we arrived
safely, and were thankful.
The First Visit to the Holy House introduced us to the peace and tranquility of this special place. Our four day programme featured a number of services - Eucharists, Sprinkling, Benediction, Rosary, Stations of the Cross - all characterised by the unique character of the Walsingham Shrine.
But cameraderie, friendship and fun were not far away! The Refectory was on form, as was the Norton Room and (of course) The Bull. The Last Night Party was as noisy as ever - and thoroughly enjoyable. It made a marked contribution to the nation's recycling stragegy!
We arrived home safely, if rather tired, and we were very thankful to have had such a splendid time in Walsingham. Our thanks to Fr Rodney and Fr Robin, whose organisation skills and sheer hard work paid off handsomely.
